Reading's biggest ongoing transformation is Station Hill, an £850 million mixed-use regeneration next to the railway station that's replaced a 1970s shopping centre, car park and bus depot with new offices, homes and public space. The project has been running since 2018, and its final phase, including more retail and homes, is due to start in 2026.
That's the kind of large-scale demolition and redevelopment happening right in the middle of town, and it's a reminder that even a project this big generates waste that has to go somewhere sensible. We're based at Reading Quarry on Berrys Lane in Burghfield, right on Reading's doorstep, and we deliver skips across the city and recycle what we collect on-site at our own Materials Recycling Facility.
