SKIP PERMITS

Will Your Skip Be on the Road?

If your skip is going on a public road rather than on private land, the council requires a permit. We arrange it for you. Tell us where the skip is going and we will handle the application.

No Road Permit Required

If the skip sits entirely on your driveway, yard or garden, with no part of it on the pavement or road, you can book online and pick any available delivery date.

Permit Required

If the skip is going on a public road, the council requires a permit and we arrange it with them for you. Allow three working days for it to come through, so order three days before you need the skip on site.

Permit fee: Charged at the council's rate

HAVE QUESTIONS?

Frequently Asked Questions

A 6 yard skip holds around 65 standard bin bags, depending on what you are putting in it. It measures 2.6m long by 1.5m wide by 1.2m high. It is our second smallest size, suited to medium refurbishments and garden clearances rather than large-scale projects.

Hazardous waste, asbestos, fridges, freezers, tyres, gas bottles and paint tins cannot go in any skip. Plasterboard, soil, hardcore and concrete can, but each needs a skip of its own, which you can select when you book. If you are not sure about something, give us a call.

Standard hire is four weeks. If you need it for longer, choose a later collection date when you book and extra weeks are added at £30 plus VAT each.

We deliver within six working days of your order, often sooner. Choose your delivery date when you book and we will be there for it.

Skips placed on the public highway or verge will require a licence issued by the local authority. Please give us a call to discuss.
