Skip companies, builders and tradespeople tip with us daily, from general skip loads to concrete, tarmac and granular materials.
Anyone with a waste carrier licence can tip at Reading Quarry. Weighbridge in, weighbridge out, and a transfer note issued before you leave. The plant behind the tipping hall processes 200 tonnes an hour, so loads are taken as they arrive.

98.06% of what we take in is recycled rather than sent to landfill, which is what keeps the gate rate down.
We process enough tonnage to price below what a transfer station has to charge.

Wood, plastics and metals are separated here and sent for reprocessing, so a mixed load is not charged as mixed waste.

How It Works
Call ahead to book a slot, or turn up on the day. Full PPE is required on site.
Bring your waste carrier registration and the transfer note details to the weighbridge, and we issue the note before you leave.
Weighed in full, weighed out empty, and you pay the difference.
A banksman directs you to the right bay for the material you are carrying.
Pay at the weighbridge by card or on account, charged by the tonne on what you tipped.
What You Can Tip
Loose or mixed, in a skip lorry, tipper or grab, and priced by the tonne on what the weighbridge says.

Environment Agency permitted site, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FORS and DVSA Earned Recognition among them.
Tippers, bulkers, roll-on/roll-off, grab, HIAB and low loader, all owned outright, so we are a customer of the weighbridge as well as its operator.
The gate opens at 6:30am Monday to Friday, so the first load of the day does not wait.
