DRY AGGREGATES

Recycled Dry Aggregates From Reading Quarry, Collected Same Day

Five grades crushed and screened at Reading Quarry, including Type 1 compliant with Clause 803 of the Specification for Highway Works. Collect from the yard without booking ahead, or we deliver on our own tippers.

Where Our Dry Aggregates Come From

From Demolition Site to Construction Site Crushed and Screened Here

Material comes off our own demolition sites and the skips we collect, and is crushed and screened at Reading Quarry into five graded products. Nothing is bought in, so we know what is in every load.

Come and collect the same day without booking ahead, Monday to Friday from 6:30am, or we deliver on our own tippers. Dry grades need no washing time, so what is in the bay is ready to load.

Our Dry Range

Five Grades, Sourced and Processed on Site

Type 1 Recycled Aggregate 0/32mm

Produced and tested to Clause 803 of the Specification for Highway Works, the standard used on adopted roads and highways work.

USAGE:

Driveways, patios, roads and trench fills

BEST FOR:

Driveways and the final sub-base layer of a road or hardstanding

Recycled 6F5 Crushed Hardcore 0/80mm

A mix of brick, concrete, asphalt and fines. The lower-cost of our two 6F5 grades, where a capping layer does not need to be uniform.

USAGE:

Driveways, landscaping, pathways and sub-base for roads and buildings

BEST FOR:

Capping a subgrade before construction, or as a piling mat

Recycled 6F5 Crushed Concrete 0/80mm

Predominantly crushed concrete and fines. The more consistent of our two 6F5 grades, where the capping layer is being inspected or built on directly.

USAGE:

Driveways, landscaping, pathways and sub-base for roads and buildings

BEST FOR:

Capping a subgrade before construction, where a higher-quality finish is needed

Recycled Crushed Concrete/Tarmac (No Fines) 40/80mm

A coarse, no-fines blend that binds with wet subsoil to form a hard base.

USAGE:

Driveways, landscaping and pathways

BEST FOR:

Boggy, muddy or wet ground that needs a hardstanding

Screened Topsoil 10mm

Screened to remove anything bigger than 10mm, for a high-quality finish.

USAGE:

Gardens, fixing lawns and uneven patches, improving drainage

BEST FOR:

Garden and lawn improvement work

Choosing the Right Grade

Match the Material to the Job

Driveways, Patios & Roads

Recommended: Type 1 Recycled Aggregate

Clause 803 compliant, so it holds up on adopted roads as well as driveways, patios and trench fills.

Capping & Sub-Base

Recommended: 6F5 Crushed Hardcore or Concrete

Both 6F5 grades cap a subgrade before construction. Take the hardcore where cost matters most, the crushed concrete where the layer is being inspected or built on directly.

Boggy or Wet Ground

Recommended: No-Fines Crushed Concrete/Tarmac

Binds with wet subsoil to form a hard base for driveways, pathways and landscaping on ground that's particularly boggy or muddy.

Garden & Lawn Improvement

Recommended: Screened Topsoil

For gardens, fixing uneven lawns and improving drainage in soft landscaping.

Bulk Supply

Ordering by the Load, Not Just the Bag

Whether you need a single load or an ongoing supply for a larger project, our washed aggregates are shipped directly to site from our Reading facility, or ready for you to collect yourself, same day.

Why Recycled Works

The Same Performance, at a Lower Cost

Lower Cost Per Tonne

Recycled washed aggregate costs less than primary aggregate of the same grade, because the material comes off our own demolition sites rather than out of the ground.

Consistent Quality

Washed, screened and graded on the same plant every time, so the 20mm you order in March is the 20mm you get in September.

Reduces Landfill

Every load processed here is one less load sent to landfill, reducing environmental impact.

Same-Day Availability

All five grades held in stock at Reading Quarry, ready to load.

Not Sure How Much You Need?

Working out the right quantity for sub-base, fill or landscaping can be tricky, here's a simple way to get it right the first time, before you order.

STEP 01

Measure the Area

Work out the length, width and depth of the space you're filling, in metres, as accurately as you can.

STEP 02

Choose Your Grade

Pick the material that suits your job, from our range above, or ask our team.

STEP 03

Call for a Quantity Estimate

Give us the measurements and we'll work out how much you need, and quote you fairly.

Graded to Spec, Not Just Crushed and Screened

Crushing and screening gets the material to size. Grading is what makes it specifiable. Type 1 is produced and tested to Clause 803 of the Specification for Highway Works, and every other grade is screened to a consistent size band, from 0/80mm capping down to 10mm topsoil.

Delivery & Collection

Collect the Same Day, or We Deliver

Dry grades need no washing time, so you can collect the same day without booking ahead. The yard is open 6:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, closed at weekends. For delivery, order before midday and we will aim to get your load out the same day.

Our Tipper Fleet

Delivered by Vehicles We Own Outright

Every load of dry aggregate leaves our site on our own fleet, not a hired-in third party. That means one accountable team from the moment you order to the moment it's tipped on your site, FORS and DVSA-recognised throughout, on every delivery we make.

Six Reasons Contractors Buy From Us

Produced on Our Own Site

Material is crushed, washed and graded at Reading Quarry, so every load we sell came off a site we handled ourselves.

Family-Owned and Managed Since 1969

The same family have run this site from the start, investing in plant, people and the local community along the way.

Licensed and Accredited

Twelve industry accreditations, including DVSA Earned Recognition, one of very few operators our size to hold it, plus CSCS Platinum, NFDC and FORS.

Our Own Fleet

Tippers, bulkers, walking floor, HIAB and low loader, all owned outright, so we set the delivery date and we keep it.

Collection From 6:30am

The yard is open from 6:30am Monday to Friday, so a load can be on your site before work starts.

to Carry Your Waste

We are registered with the Environment Agency as a waste carrier and hold twelve current industry accreditations, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FORS and DVSA Earned Recognition. Every one is checkable before you book.

DVSA EARNED RECOGNITION

DVSA audits our systems and records directly rather than stopping our lorries at the roadside. That is what Earned Recognition status means, and it is why our vehicles spend their time working.
