Muck Away
Our own eight-wheel tippers load and clear excavation arisings from sites across Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Hampshire, at whatever rate the dig produces them. Every muck away load comes back to Reading Quarry, where granular subsoils go through our own washing plant and come back out as graded aggregate, which lowers your disposal cost and lifts your recycling rate on the same load.

Large-volume muckshifts handled without a problem, whatever the scale of the job.
Granular subsoils are common across the Thames Valley, which is why so much of what we collect washes rather than goes to landfill.
Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Hampshire, all worked from our Reading Quarry site.

SAME WORKING DAY
Demolition, waste removal, aggregates, grab hire or plant haulage. Tell us the site, the material and the dates, and you get a price, or a date for a site visit, the same working day.
Why Choose Us
Granular subsoils go through our own washing plant and come back out as saleable aggregate, so qualifying loads go to recycling rather than landfill.
Clean, recyclable excavation waste carries no landfill tax, so you pay a disposal rate rather than a tax bill.
35 HGVs in our own fleet, including eight-wheel tippers run by our own drivers, ready for any volume.
Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Hampshire are all inside our own tipping radius, so we avoid third-party transfer stations.
How We Recycle Your Soil
Our washing plant recovers granular subsoils with a silt content below 30%, turning what would be a landfill charge into sand and aggregate we sell back out.
The natural geology across the Thames Valley means most excavation arisings sit inside that threshold, so what comes off your site is far more likely to be washed and reused than tipped.

Subsoils from this region arrive clean enough to wash and reuse, rather than being classed as waste on arrival.

You pay a recycling gate rate instead of a landfill rate on every load that qualifies.

Your project recycling figures go up without changing anything about how the site runs.
How It Works

Tell us how much is coming out of the ground, what it is and how the site is accessed, and we price the job from that.
We set the number of lorries and the turnaround against your dig rate, so the excavator is not left waiting on an empty yard.
Our drivers run between your site and our Reading facility for as long as the dig lasts, whether it is a day of spoil removal or a full muck shifting programme.
Silt content is checked as each load arrives at our facility, and the material is routed to the washing plant or to disposal on that result.
Soil that passes goes through the washing plant and comes back out as sand and aggregate, which is what keeps the rate below a landfill price.
OUR MUCK AWAY FLEET
Every tipper is owned outright and run under FORS accreditation and DVSA Earned Recognition, so the lorries arriving on your site are ours, maintained by us and auditable.
The washing plant sits on the same site the lorries tip at, so there is no second journey to a third-party transfer station and no handling charge on top.

More Services
One site, one team and a wider range of services to support your site, from demolition and skip hire to aggregates and plant haulage.
WHY J MOULD
We run our own Materials Recycling Facility at the Reading site, so the soil leaving your job and the aggregate coming back out are handled under one roof.
The same family have run this site from the start, investing in plant, people and the local community along the way.
Current industry accreditations, including DVSA Earned Recognition, CSCS Platinum, NFDC and FORS.
Roll-on/roll-off lorries, bulkers, tippers, HIAB, low loader and walking floor, all owned outright and driven by our own people. Lines open at 6:30am, so collections can be arranged before work starts on site.
From unlicensed asbestos removal to Section 80 demolition, the permits, trained operatives and plant are already in place when a job calls for them.
CALA Homes, J Devine Civil Engineering, Francis Construction and Runnymede Homes are among the contractors who work with us.
LICENSED. AUDITED. TRUSTED.
We are registered with the Environment Agency as a waste carrier and hold twelve current industry accreditations, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FORS and DVSA Earned Recognition. Every one is checkable before you book.
DVSA EARNED RECOGNITION
DVSA audits our systems and records directly rather than stopping our lorries at the roadside. That is what Earned Recognition status means, and it is why our vehicles spend their time working.
