Odiham's High Street looks Georgian, but much of it is older: in the 18th century most of the timber-framed buildings in the centre were encased in brick and stucco, and the Market House in the middle of the street was demolished, probably after the turnpike opened in 1789. The biggest changes came in the 20th century. The manor lands were sold off in 1920, housing went up on Crownfields and Dunley's Hill by 1931, and from the 1980s Palace Gate, Angel Meadows and Deer Park View were built behind the High Street.
So a Georgian front on the High Street may hide a medieval timber frame, while a few streets away the houses are only a few decades old, and both still get renovated and cleared. We deliver skips across Odiham, RG29, and recycle what we collect at our own facility in Reading.
